2015Team Member Spotlight: Nina Paz
Here at Saiaf Films, we really cherish the team we have built. We are proud to offer our clients the opportunity to work with a wedding photography team that not only works well together, but genuinely appreciates their field of work. Each Team Member Spotlight will showcase one of our amazing wedding photographers. We had each of them answer a few select questions that will help our wonderful clients get and idea of just how passionate our crew really is. In this week’s Team Member Spotlight, we are proud to feature Nina Paz.
To start, what is one of your favorite shots from Saiaf Films? (Pictured Left)
I remember walking into the office for my interview to work at Saiaf Films and that photo just captured my attention right off the bat! It still does! The cool tones and the way it was edited is literally perfection to me! The moment in itself is also priceless! Husband and wife, leaning in to whisper inside jokes or commentary about the wedding is probably the cutest thing ever.
What is your favorite moment or tradition at weddings?
Well, there are a couple of traditions that I love. From the process of getting ready to the first dance- it’s all a lot of fun! But, I truly believe the best moment is seeing the groom’s reaction to his lovely bride walking towards him. It’s the most genuine and truest moment you’ll ever experience- not only as a photographer, but as a human being as well. Also, I really like getting myself a slice of cake at the end of the night!
Favorite wedding location/venue?
The Farm at South Mountain. It is little and perfectly quaint. There are bulb lights that hang every where and there is nothing but green grass, trees and flowers every which way you turn! Not only is it a photographer’s playground, but it is such a romantic area for the wedding couple.
Any suggestions for couples on how to look amazing and feel comfortable in their photographs?
- Get a massage a day before the wedding.
- Except the fact that one way or another, your wedding may somehow get off schedule. Accepting this ahead of time will ensure that you’ll never be stressed or disappointed about timing.
- Wear sensible shoes! (This goes to the groom as well!)
- Focus on your spouse! Have fun: IT’S YOUR WEDDING DAY!
Those are my four rules. The less worried you are about everything else, the more your personality and happiness will shine through your photos.
How has witnessing so many weddings impacted your life/outlook?
Oh my! Well it has made me a pretty detail oriented photographer. On a personal level, being in this field has also made me a hopeless romantic; even more so than I already was! Seeing so many couples that truly love each other is not only comforting, but also gives me a sense of faith in humanity. 🙂
Any advice for couples who are looking for their perfect wedding photographer?
Look for a photographer that fits you and your spouse’s personality. If you don’t feel like you and your photographer could hang out on any given weekend, I say keep searching. I only say this because you need to be ONE HUND-O PERCENT COMFORTABLE on your big day. If you feel that friendship connection with your photographer, odds are they won’t take your special day lightly! Your photos will be amazing because you were around a photographer that matched your personality and they made you feel good and confident in yourself.
What’s your favorite reaction from a client when you deliver their images?
After we take a photo during the shoot- and it’s like REALLY good- we show the couple and they just look at each other and they’re just speechless!
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Oh man, this is usually a really difficult question! I’m always torn between invisibility, telekinesis or teleportation. But, as of right now, I’d like to be able to eat as much pasta as I want without gaining a pound. I think that’s a really cool, practical superpower! 🙂
How about another Saiaf Films favorite photo? (Pictured Right)
Yaqeen and Mohammad; I had the pleasure of shooting with Saiaf on this wedding and not only were the couple the coolest couple I think I’ve met so far, but they were also the most elegant in my eyes. In particular, I love this shot because of the moment you get from it. His and her expression is just so genuine and adorable. It falls back down to the connection of the couple showing itself in the photo along with their personality. Her coyness and him just trying to look her in the eyes. It’s just LOVE.
